The floor sets a quiet temperature.
Moss House began with a surface that could absorb a little weather. Limestone gives the room weight without turning it solemn; its soft irregularity catches pale light, wet shoes, a forgotten stem.
Everything above it is allowed to be simple. Green joinery holds the edge of the landscape. Linen keeps the sofa from feeling precious. The room is not trying to frame the view — it simply makes a place to come back from it.
A honed finish matters here: it keeps the stone matte, calmer underfoot and less slippery than a polish. Read more in the limestone floor guide.
“The room should be able to receive a rainy day.”
